Privacy policy

StemView · Last updated: October 26, 2026

In short: StemView has no accounts, shows no ads and doesn't track you; the app uses no analytics. Your ride data goes from the watch to the display over Bluetooth and never passes through any server. To activate a display, the app only sends your store's purchase receipt (Apple or Google Play) and the board identifier.

1. Who is responsible

StemView is an independent project developed by Hans Quiroz. For any privacy question write to soporte@stemview.app.

2. Your activity data

The data field on your watch sends the display, over Bluetooth and only while you ride, data such as speed, heart rate, power, position and weather. That link is direct between your watch and your display: it is not sent to the internet or to us. Your watch keeps recording the activity as always.

3. Display activation

When you activate a display, the app sends our server your store's purchase receipt (the Apple-signed transaction or the Google Play purchase token) and the board's chip identifier. The receipt includes transaction, product and date identifiers, but not your name or email. The server verifies it with Apple or Google and only keeps a hashed summary of the purchase, the IDs of the activated boards and the activation dates, to enforce the 3-display limit per purchase and block refunded purchases. We don't sell or share this data.

4. Updates and maps

To check for updates and download maps, the app sends our server the board's activation certificate, which contains its identifier and a pseudonymous purchase reference. As with any internet connection, the server sees your IP address, but it doesn't store it. To detect copied certificates it keeps a hashed summary of the source network and the certificate for 24 hours, and then deletes it.

5. Permissions

6. Your rights

You can ask us to delete the activation record tied to your purchase by writing to the email above. Already activated displays will keep working.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
